Storm King School is one of the oldest and most prestigious day and boarding schools in New York. Established in 1867, the school educates students from grades 8 to 12. To ensure Storm King students graduate with a competitive advantage, the school believes in helping their students become thinkers, doers, problem solvers and adapters. Storm King emphasizes creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication throughout the curriculum. The school offers approximately 100 courses, including AP and Honors level courses. Storm King's curriculum follows a university-style curriculum. The same 4 classes will take place every day and students study 3-4 subjects in a given semester. Storm King has many community partnerships that allow students to fulfill a 20-hour community service requirement each year. The boarding school experience builds students a strong community through evening and weekend activities such as art and cultural trips, hiking, rock climbing and more. The Student Activities Committee keeps dorm life lively with dance lessons, concerts, etc.
